Help...I need some Disney World tips...

28 June 2014

So I mentioned a few posts below about my quest to finish (what seems like a million) Disney movies (here) before I actually go to Disney World, but I never mentioned my freakishly weird need to plan everything before I go. I have a notebook dedicated to what I'm going see, ride, walk, eat, and probably even times for when I need to go to the bathroom (just kidding...). Since this is my first time and George's like...5th....although he's a boy, and no good at planning, I am being extremely neurotic (probably more than I need to be). Everything that I've read has told me without a plan, I am doomed, so I am following that advice and am PLANNING, hard core. Here's a little tiny peek into this disorganized and crazy person notebook:

Needless to say, despite all the planning and researching and pinning and looking up and you wouldn't believe the amount of google-ing, I still feel like there are just some things that the internet cannot help me with. I know a million bloggers have made the journey to this magical place, and I want to know some of your secrets, tips, must-sees/rides and just any sort of ideas! It's hard to find plans for people without kids (if you do have kids, I still want to know what they love because I will probably love it too), and I need all the help I can get! So this post is basically just a cry for help for whatever y'all have! You can either e-mail me at scismr@yahoo.com or just comment on this post. Thank you thank you thank you!

xxooo,
Randell

  1. Are you going to Disneyland or Disney World?! I jotted down a few notes after we went to Disneyland a few years ago. I will email them to you! So. FUN!

    1. Oops, I guess I should have clarified, LOL, but I'm going to Disney World. However, I do someday plan on going to Disneyland so I'll stash those away as well for some time in the future...

  2. We just went to Disney this spring. You have to hit the Rockin' Rollercoaster at Hollywood Studios -- it's our favorite ride in the entire park!

  3. I went in the summer when I was younger, and there was one thing that I was extremely happy we had at all times. That was a spray bottle of water with a battery powered fan on top of it that we bought in the park. I'm sure you could find one at places like Walmart or Target that would be much cheaper, but it's basically essential to have a misty cool breeze to keep from sweating up a storm when you're walking around all day. I hope you have fun! The parks are wonderful and the food there is fantastic!

    1. Yes! I was thinking about getting one of those! It also helps that they fill up your water bottles for you for free... We have two reservations - one at Mama Melroses in Hollywood Studios and one at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom, the rest we are just doing counter service. I'm not sure if you've had either one (or remember), but do you have any specific suggestions?

  4. Do not buy water at the parks! It's so overpriced and not worth it. If you go up to quick-dine places, you can ask for a cup of ice water and they give it to you for free.

The best place to watch the fireworks show at Epcot is on the second floor of the Japan building in the World Showcase. It's above everyone else so no one will be standing in your way. Just get there about an hour early to get a prime spot.

Go to Wal Mart or Target and buy $1 ponchos to take with you. So much cheaper than being caught in the rain at Disney and having to buy $8 ponchos at the parks.

I have so many more tips...but if you'd like you can visit my blog and read about them there! We're annual passholders and I love writing about Disney!

    2. You're welcome! Also...I should have mentioned this before. If you can you'll definitely want to make a reservation at Be Our Guest at the Magic Kingdom. We love the restaurant (try the grey stuff, it's delicious!) and the food is amazing. :-)
